Heading Home to Oregon and Celebrating Spring!

We wrapped up our Arizona season this year, busy as ever with clients coming and going right up to our departure date. The sun has been shining, spring winds a-blowin', and the mesquite trees blooming, so between hay fever and Arizona dust, we are ready for green grass and spring mud in Richland!

Glenn and his new WHR bridle horse, Sterling

As we look forward to getting back north to the Home Ranch earlier this year, we hope to get a little ahead of the grass and get some cattle on our pastures before they grow belly-deep.

Easter weekend found us working with student and horse client, Glenn Aust of Forest Grove, Oregon, who had waited all his life to own and ride "a good one". This is one very special gelding that we are very proud of, a soft-minded athlete and solid seasoned rope horse who is now handling cattle like a fancy reined cow horse with our touch. Sterling is going to make Glen a super versatility ranch roping & trail horse and the envy of his friends with whom he gathers cattle.

Easter trail ride with Glen & Sterling

Easter Sunday was special out on the trail horseback, enjoying our time spent in the present moment...in His presence. With desert wild-flowers dotting the hillsides, we celebrated Christ's resurrection truly living life, one hoof beat at a time, as our Lord showed us, making life possible, today and forever. 2016 Home Ranch Spring & Summer Schedule

WHR Spring Gelding Update!

We've got a few new geldings coming along...our big, handsome buckskin,  Butch , is a 7-year-old, 15.2 hand, all-around gentle & kind seasoned ranch gelding with a lovely hobby horse canter in the arena and a rock-pounder in the mountain trails who will shine in the ranch roping corral or cowboy dressage arena!

Our darling 15 hand bright & flashy sorrel with four stockings, sired by Wimpy's Little Step out of a Smart Chic O Lena mare, is a super quiet, family-friendly, awesome, smooth arena horse and trail wise. His fool-proof personality makes him a great fit for many.

We also recently added a couple of outstanding, quiet, all-around Peptoboonsmal-bred red roan cow horses to our string, one of which we just sold last weekend to a gal from New Mexico who has had a deposit with us since last June, ordering a 14 hand, super-gentle and reliable trail horse. Happy Campers here! Do call, because the horses often get spoken for before they even get posted on the website.

We are heading north to Richland this week and should be settled in by Monday, April 25th. We have our spring and summer school and clinic dates set, so give us a call and get signed up, or schedule a Private Clinic Session!  We can be reached now in Oregon at 541-893-6535 or you can call us on our cell at 520-820-1096 while we're on the road if it's urgent.

NEWS FLASH! We will also be in western Wyomingfor two to three weeks in late July/August, including a four-day clinic August 11 through 14, and can be met there to see our geldings by appointment. See the full schedule above visit the website for course  descriptions & details!

'Til our  trails cross  again,

may you be astride a good one

with the warmth of the Son shining on you.
